Abstract

Social media has become an integral part of modern life and has impacted the manner in which individuals engage with businesses and social causes, connect, and learn. Because of the high usage, there now exists a record level of global connectivity, which facilitates immediate communication as well as the exchange of information across numerous spheres. Social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter have transformed professional and personal networking by enabling individuals to connect with each other and companies to connect with a broader audience. Social media is integral to education because it provides users with access to scholarly discussions, online classrooms, and learning resources. The research provides insight into social media's double-edged sword and social implications by examining its impact on communication, business, education, and mental health. The findings indicate the need for critical thinking, ethical online conduct, and law reforms to maximize social media's benefits while minimizing its drawbacks.
